Rooted cooking

A neighbourhood restaurant on Carril del Picón. Produce, charcoal and a cellar chosen calmly.

The name

Picón is the fine charcoal that once lit Granada's braziers. It is also the name of the street where we are.

Picón takes its name from Carril del Picón, an old charcoal traders' street where the people of Granada bought the fine charcoal to light the braziers in their homes.

In 2024 we wanted to return a restaurant to that street: linen cloths, wine glasses and a kitchen that looks to tradition without standing still.

“Rooted cooking: the memory of always, brought up to date.” Picón Restaurante

The kitchen

We work with seasonal produce and recipes that are part of the memory of the house. Charcoal, stews and the right temperature lead the way.

The menu changes with the market. Some dishes never leave —oxtail, smoked aubergine, croquettes— and others appear with the seasons.

  • Seasonal and local produce.
  • Time-honoured recipes, with a voice of our own.
  • Charcoal, stews and spoon dishes.
  • A cellar with more than one hundred references.

references

The cellar

More than one hundred references from small Spanish and international producers, with an Andalusian base. A cellar meant to accompany the table, not to decorate it.

If you are not sure what to order, ask the team. The sommelier's selection is included in the group menus.
